Description
This Catholic church in San Juan Puerto Rico dates back to 1523. This building was originally called the Church and Monastery of Saint Thomas Aquinas. The body of Ponce de Leon was interred here for 300 years before being moved to the San Juan Catedral. This medium-sized church offers holy mass in Spanish daily. The church has hosted some of the island's most remarkable weddings. It's beauty is definitely appreciated by those looking to be united in a simple yet elegant place of worship. It has an impressive choir, adding to its appeal. While not a tourist landmark, it makes for a pleasant stop if you're strolling down Calle San Jorge.
